FOR THE LOVE OF THE ARTISAN BAKERY
During this two week project, a group of three of us were set the task of researching, intervening and developing relationships with people of interest within a set field, in our case this was the artisan bakery. As an outcome to this project we would have to produce a two minute short film that gave a glimpse into the lives of the people who inhabit this niche communities. The ambition was to building empathy and understanding as to why they had chosen to devote so much of their lives to their bakeries and visual show that through a media based formar.
What came of this short project was not only a much better understanding and respect for the bakers we became friendly with, but also a realisation that the different types of bread we consume seriously affects our health. In short, however healthier the bread, the higher the price. Thus the project became a way in which we could argue the case of the bespoke bakery against that of the supermarket, or perhaps vice-versa.
